Dr. Alireza Zali was born in Damavand on 25/3/1966. In 1982, he received a high school diploma in experimental sciences from Kharazmi High Schooland was ranked first in Tehran province. He graduated from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1988. He graduated from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1994 in the field of neurosurgery and obtained the first rank in the four-year intra-educational exams in neurosurgery. In 1998, he succeeded in obtaining a board certificate and in 2005, he received a stereotaxy fellowship from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.  He is currently a full professor, President of Research Institute of Functional Neurosurgery, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, President of Functional Neurosurgery Research Center, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, head of Shohada Tajrish Comprehensive Neurosurgical Center of Excellence, and chairman of the USERN Functional Neurosurgery Research Center Office.
