History

Functional Neurosurgery Research Center was proposed and approved by the University Research Council on October 4, 2007, and was established in 2008 at the Shohadaye Tajrish Educational Hospital with the approval of the Development Council of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

This center has various research activities in the field of diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. Moreover, the center collaborates with stem cell research centers and Royan Stem Cell Technology Company in the field of stem cells to study the treatment of spinal cord injuries and cerebral palsy.

Field of activities

The areas of activity of the Functional Neurosurgery Research Center are as follows:

1.Accepting, supporting, organizing and registering research projects sent to the center.

2.Holding national and international webinars, seminars, conferences, congresses and scientific and educational symposiums.

3.Acceptance and publication of scientific articles in the scientific-research journals of the center entitled:

·         The center is prominent in the country and the region with experienced and renowned professors.

·         Existence of active stereotactic ward in Shohadaye Tajrish Educational Hospital.

·         Existence of electrode and DBS device for patients with Parkinson's and other motor diseases.

·         Existence of stereotactic clinic and stereotactic subspecialists.

·         Linking to the ward and with experienced professors of neurology of Shohadaye Tajrish Educational Hospital.

·         Carrying out research projects related to patients with brain tumors, Parkinson's and movement disorders.

·         The center also has a unique activity in the field of stem cells for the treatment of spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, discopathies and gene therapy in the field of brain tumors.
